Friends
Stephanie, Kara, Sandra, Tonya, Lana...THANK YOU!

Friends3

Those of you who know me, know that I am crazy!
hee hee!I ALWAYS bite off more than I can chew and
I LOVE to over do it. Naturally, getting ready for quilt
market is a huge production for me because I never do
anything half way. I want my booth to be cute and I have
been dreaming and stressing out about the design. I lay
in bed at night (or should I say morning because I rarely
go to bed before 3 am) and dream up ideas.

I have been so busy with the pattern designs and
sewing samples that I just haven't had time to work on the
booth. My most amazing, darling, wonderful, friends came
to my rescue! I have some of the most creative, talented
friends in the world and they came over the other night
and went to work. All I did was make them dinner and then
their creative juices started to flow! We painted boxes,
frames, ironwork decorations, and decoupaged my Pink Fig
Patterns sign, and picture books. The outcome is incredible
and I will be forever grateful! Look at what they made:

I LOVE THESE!!!! They are so CUTE!!! Sandra is the decoupage
queen! I had no clue how to work that stuff, but after watching
her for a minute or 2 we all figured it out and went wild with
it!!! Notice the Amy Butler Scrapbook paper and embelishments?

...YummY...

There is more, but you'll have to wait and see the
booth pictures, and It's possible we'll have one
more craft night before I go:)

My son snapped this picture of me while I was working.
He thinks it's so fun to play with my camera and
always laughs after he takes a picture. It makes me
a little self conscious. Anyways, here is a peek of me
at work and some of the samples I will be taking to market.
Lila's fabric is going to get here just before I go and

I'm saving up some time to make something extra
special out of her line:)

If you want to see my patterns Click HERE to check them out.
I still have one more to add sometime next week!

Bglogo
I decided to go ahead and list  this exact set on ebay.
The one pictured in the Post below is on Etsy and is listed
as a Surprise piece.

Bg12a

Because of some of the really rare fabrics I can only remake
this set 1 time. It is perfect for Spring and summer and can
be mixed and matched. We wore the jeans with a solid 3/4
sleeved shirt from Old navy and it looked adorable! Really
the jeans will go anything:) Click HERE to view the listing.

The Pink Fig Patterns Blog is now up and running! As I finish
each pattern cover I'll add it to the blog so you can see what
will be available:)

Also Check out my Pink Fig Fabric shop on Etsy. I just listed
some more Ginger Blossom Fabric, and a ton of other stuff!

Have a great weekend~

ButterFly Garden

You'll have to excuse me these next few weeks while
I try to get ready for the Quilt Market. I am burning the
midnight oil trying to stay on top of things so blogging is
going to take a back seat for a bit:( I'll keep you updated
on things as much as I can.  In the meantime, I listed a
bunch of stuff in my Etsy store including this SuRpRiSe
Decoupage set!!!

Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I have loads of this fabric and I just can't seem to get
enough of it! The Color combo is scrumptious and what
little girl doesn't love birds:) You will definitely get the
most for your money because you can mix and match this
to create 4 different outfits. The jewelry (Not Included)
was made by my good friend Amie. Her jewels are the
best. You would die if you saw the stash I have~ Click
HERE to view this Listing. I also listed the Alice in
Wonderland
Sample set with no reserve!

Featuring...

   Sundarosejacket3

Well now that I got that last post off of my chest,
I feel a real need to to move on. Thanks so much
for all of your support and encouraging words. All
of your comments have lifted my spirits and
motivated me to get to work!

Sundarosejacket From time to time I like
to feature some of my
friends. This time
around I chose Ronda
of SundaRose. I have been
a long time admirer and
fan of her designs.Her
shabby chic style is modern
and fresh.I am in love with
everything she makes.
I was lucky enough to  win
this sweet little jacket last
month and I have to admit
I am obsessed with it. I put
it on my daughter at least 3
times a week.
It is beautifully made and

goes with everything. And the detail...
Well, just look at the pictures.
Ronda you are amazing!

If you don't have anything made
by her yet, you better put her on your list:)

With Quilt Market only 2 months away I think it's time I let
you all know what I've been up to.While I know that most of
you will be supportive of my new endeavor, I have no doubt
that there are those who want to pick me apart. But before you
do, please know that I am a nice person. Really, I am and I'm
not trying to step on anyone's toes. I feel a need to share my
ideas with others and my hope for my patterns is to inspire
those who love to create and give them a place to start. After
all, a pattern is just a pattern, It's the designer who makes it
special.

Before I go into the details there are a few people I want to
thank. I'll start with Lila. Lila you know I wouldn't be doing this
if it wasn't for you:)You encouraged me and pushed me along
and you have always been a huge inspiration to me. I wouldn't
even be sewing at all if it wasn't for you. I owe 90% of what I
am doing today because of you. You're probably rolling your
eyes at me right now, but it's true. You are the most creative

and talented person I know. Kay, thank you, thank you,
thank you for your advice and your awesome emails explaining
all the ropes to me. I am positive you saved me hundreds of
hours and dollars with all the info you gave me. I'll have to
think of a way to repay you, I promise! Sandi, thanks for
encouraging me and spending the time to talk with me
about my ideas. You are always so willing to help.I really,
really appreciate it. Joel - Thank you so much for helping
me get into Market. You are awesome!!! And of course my
family and friends who put up with my weird schedule and
crazy ideas. I love you all!

Sorry, but I just had to say that because I really don't think I
would have had the confidence to tackle this if they hadn't
helped me:)

Okay, so a little bit about my patterns. For the first time
around I am keeping it simple. Sweet skirts, classic peasant
tops, and simple pants. I started out with about 15 patterns
in mind, narrowed it down to 10, and now I'm at 7. Hee hee!
My eyes were way bigger than my brain. I will have a little
booth of my own at Market that will be filled with samples
pieces and me. That's it! It's all kind of scary, but is one of
those things that just has to be done. You know those
nagging feelings? I hate those! So it's better just to give in
and do it right from the start rather than put it off.

One of my worst nightmares,(that I have actually been having
a lot lately),is for people to say mean things about me and my
patterns. It's weird I know, but I can't help it. So please be
nice and reserve all judgements until after you meet me
in person. We'll have lunch and really get to know each other,
then you can decide:)  Alright, deep breathe here and now I'll
show you one of my patterns. You have probably seen it
before, but you didn't know it was a pattern:

Zmesparrow
This is one of my favorites and has been really popular.
It's super easy to make and has options. It can be worn
alone as a dress, with a pair of boutique pants, or with a
pair of jeans. I love it!

Well, that's all I'm sharing for now, but I'll probably give
you a few more sneaks before I go to market in May.

Oh ya, and one more BIG thanks to Lila for making my pink
fig logo.

Candied Carrots

My husband and I went to a delicious Swiss gourmet restaurant
over the weekend and we had these candied carrots there. All
of the vegetables were amazing, but these seriously were the
best carrots I have ever had. So today we thought we would
try and recreate them. They actually turned out really, really
close and the best part is my Kids loved them! We called them
candied carrots so they would try them and it worked:)

Candiedcarrots_3

Recipe:
1 package of mini carrots
1/4 cup of butter
parsley
salt
brown sugar

-Melt the butter in a pan on low heat. 3 or 4
-Add the mini carrots
-grab a handful of brown sugar and sprinkle it over the carrots
-add a dash of salt
-keep the heat on low, try number 2
-cover the pan and saute the carrots for 20 minutes or until
they are tender. Taste them to see if they are sweet enough.
Add more sugar if you want.
-Remove from heat and sprinkle parsley all over the carrots.

Serve with an entree or just eat them. I swear they are as
good as any dessert! YUMMY!

Oh! And before I forget, thanks for all of our helpful comments
on the fabric post below. It really helped me:) Now you'll just
have to wait and see what I get! The winner of the 2 yard
surprise pack of Ginger Blossom Fabric is NIC! I'll email you
later today.
